Accessibility Statement

Last reviewed: May 2026

1. Scope

This accessibility statement applies to the OurManifesto.uk website at ourmanifesto.uk, operated by Scrapz Ltd, trading as scrapz.co.uk. It covers all pages, interactive features, and account-holder areas of the Service.

2. Our commitment

We want OurManifesto.uk to be usable by as many people as possible, including users who rely on assistive technology such as screen readers, keyboard navigation, voice control, or screen magnification. While the site is privately operated, we voluntarily aim to meet the standards expected by the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

3. Conformance status

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This statement is based on a self-assessment carried out by our team in May 2026. We have not yet commissioned an independent third-party audit.

4. What we do well

  • Pages can be navigated using a keyboard alone, with visible focus styles on interactive elements.
  • Light and dark themes both meet AA contrast targets for body text.
  • Form fields have associated labels and inline error messages.
  • The site uses semantic HTML landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) so assistive technology can navigate efficiently.
  • Layouts reflow to a single column on small screens and remain usable at 200% browser zoom.

5. Known limitations

We are honest about what is not yet perfect. The following issues are known and on our backlog:

  • Charts and aggregate visualisations in the Politoratzi area do not yet expose underlying data tables to screen readers. Workaround: email us and we will send the figures as an accessible spreadsheet.
  • Some party logos sourced from third parties have generic alternative text. We are reviewing each one.
  • The drag-and-drop Personal Manifesto builder is easier to use with a mouse than a keyboard. A keyboard-only fallback (add/remove buttons on every policy card) is available, but we are working to make the drag interaction equally accessible.
  • PDF exports of manifestos are generated from the on-screen layout and may not be fully tagged for screen readers.

6. Alternative formats

If you need any content from OurManifesto.uk in a different format — for example large print, plain-text email, or an accessible spreadsheet — email us at hello@ourmanifesto.uk and we will respond within 5 working days.

7. Reporting accessibility issues

If you encounter a barrier on the site, please tell us. The more detail you can give — page, browser, assistive technology, what you expected to happen — the faster we can fix it. Contact us at hello@ourmanifesto.uk. We aim to acknowledge reports within 2 working days and to resolve, or set a timeline for, each issue within one calendar month.

8. Enforcement

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS), which provides advice and support on equality and discrimination issues in England, Scotland and Wales.

9. Preparation of this statement

This statement was prepared in May 2026 following a self-assessment of the live site against WCAG 2.1 Level AA. It will be reviewed at least annually, and whenever significant changes are made to the Service.
